This thesis studies the performance of two proposed congestion control methods used for ABR traffic. These methods are the Quantum flow control (QFC) and the guaranteed frame rate (GFR). The QFC method is a hop by hop mechanism where the destination may send on credit availability. The GFR method guarantees a minimum cell rate for the user. Fairness is implemented for the GFR method based on the history list method. For comparison, a third congestion control method called Simplified Congestion Control Method is proposed and modeled.
