Social service Program For Violence-Victim Women & Children in King Abdul Aziz Military Hospital in Saudi

The study is aims to investigate the violence victims’ and the doctors’ knowledge about the social and medical service program provided by King Abdulaziz military hospital in Tabook, the source of this knowledge, and the services and aids presented by the said program, including the type of cases that the program deals with, the recommendations the doctors find suitable to develop the program.
The study used a comprehensive social survey to collect information and data and facts, depending on two questionnaires one was distributed on doctors while the other was distributed on the patients.
Another source information collected from personal interviews, with subjects. The data then was processed by computer and analyzed by the ratios and percentage frequencies.
The study has reached the following conclusions:
- Most of the subjects of victims were aware of the existence of a specialized department that deal with their cases, who represented 53.33% of the sample of the study. Regarding the doctors’ sample of the study, the results showed that 78.3% of than were well aware that social service program deals more than others with violence reasons that victims were exposed to.
- Regarding victims resources about the existence of specialized program that deals with violence cases like theirs, the study found that 55.88% of the victims have had that knowledge through reading, while the doctors’ knowledge (36.67%) came from the socials medical services.
- The results have shown that the program presents varied services to violence victims, covered 41.67% of the victims interviewed in their rooms due to there low-life conditions and 46.67% of them received morale support.
- Regarding the services that are offered by program to help violence victims, the study showed that 64.4% of the total sample are appreciating the support in facilitating the continuous communication and connection between the victims and the medical team.
- The results showed that the psychological violence caused by negligence is at the top of cases that the program deals with averaging 55% of the total cases, which means that the married and single females, children whether males or females a like are under psychological pressures exerted upon them from different family members.
- Regarding the doctors recommendations to develop the program, 63.3% of the doctors’ recommendations urged for delivering lectures that enhance the capabilities of the staff.
